“Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.” Mark 16:6
Watchman Nee has said, “Our old history ends with the cross; our new history begins with the resurrection.”
As people around the world the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, what does it mean to you? For me, it is new beginnings. Because Jesus, God the Son, has risen victorious over sin and death, it means a chance to start all over. The resurrection provides the opportunity to try again, this time in the power of God to live a life of service and significance… to count in this life for a cause greater than self. It is not only the power to live a life of abundance, but an eternal life with the very Savior who died on the Cross and left an empty tomb as a witness to His authority to offer it to us. It means our story doesn’t have to end as it has been written. We can begin again, this time allowing the Author of Life to pen a story that will tell of His love, mercy and grace; and allow us to share that same story with others who so desperately need a re-write.
What does the resurrection of Jesus mean to you? How can you share the story of your life’s re-write in Christ Jesus… and who can you share it with? Focus today, not on the past with all of it’s regrets, but on the future and all of its promise. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a new history is being written for you. Let the risen Lord and Savior pen the history of the rest of your eternal life.
