Lesson 8: Faithfulness.
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 3:3
Perhaps it could be said that faithfulness is love in action; the active state of living the other essentials of the fruit of the Spirit as we live out the Great Commission and live in the Great Commandments. It is most evident in our lives, not in the big accomplishments, but in the day-to-day of living as a servant.
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share in your master’s happiness.'” Matthew 25:21
During this 40 days of prayer and fasting, focus on living faithful in the little things. Remember that, “The reward of being ‘faithful over a few things’ is just the same as being ‘faithful over many things’; for the emphasis falls upon the same word; it is the ‘faithful’ who will enter ‘into the joy of their Lord.'” – Charles S. Robinson. And don’t lose sight that it is the unlimited faithfulness of God’s Spirit in you that empowers you to be and stay faithful!
“The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.” I Thessalonians 5:24.
