“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
With all of the annual “buzz” about Superbowl commercials and promos, the question comes to mind, “How are we promoting Jesus?” Deeper still, if salvation is our product and God is using us as His “pitchmen,” how are we doing? Is anyone buying it? Are we over-selling, under-selling? Do we leave people wanting more or wanting nothing more to do with what we’re offering? What about marketing strategy?
Wait! Don’t just take a pass on this question. Make no mistake, we all have a strategy and a style, stated or unstated. And, no strategy is a strategy all its own. Do we know what ours is and, more importantly, how it is or isn’t working? And, have we unwittingly joined others in compromising Jesus’ image in order to boost our own ministry profit margins? Is there any image worth modeling and promoting more than His?
Click on the image of Jesus (I’m a little queezy & uneasy about it…) used by one church to access a great conversational blog by Sean Michael Lewis (marketing expert) titled, “The Jesus Industry.” Would love to hear your thoughts…
